FAQ

Commonly asked questions we receive

IS THIS ORGANIZATION ONLY FOR FAITH COMMUNITY NURSES?

No! This organization is for anyone who has a passion to improve health care outcomes in their community. The primary membership tends to be Faith Community Nurses, however it also includes Pastors, Clergy, Chaplains, Volunteers, Health promoters, and more. The focus of this group is to help those who have a health ministry to grow together through networking, connecting resources, and learning what services others have available.

CAN NON-FAITH GROUPS PARTNER WITH THIS NETWORK?

Absolutely - We want to learn about all our community resources and we strongly encourage your participation. Perhaps membership is not the right fit for you, however we would love to include you in our resources. Our ministries are looking for FREE, or LOW COST resources. Many of the ministries that partner with us are serving low income, homeless, struggling families, or people in crisis that need assistance to get through a hard time. We focus on Social Determinants of Health (housing, utilities, food, clothing, medications, education, health disparities, and more, that impact health.) Our goal is to provide intentional care of the spirit while meeting health needs.

The 2 primary prayer requests are for 1) financial needs 2) health and healing. We want faith communities to have resources available to help put legs on their faith and provide resources at the time of need.

HOW MUCH OF MY DONATION / MEMBERSHIP DIRECTLY SUPPORTS THE CAUSE?

Currently 99.5% of all funds support the HMNT vision and mission. All our officers are volunteers. The only costs to our organization is our internet site and basic fees for mailing and office type expenses. We use our funds to provide Scholarships, Certification Hours, and Education, and Resources. We intentionally keep our membership fees low so that we can be a resource to those who most need us. Your donations will enable us to expand our work and provide more resources for those we serve.
